Hippotherapy is a treatment strategy devised and implemented by a licensed physical, occupational or speech therapist that uses the movement of the horse as a treatment tool. The primary focus of Hippotherapy is to achieve functional goals, such as range of motion, muscle control, and sensory processing.
Adaptive Vaulting is vaulting modified according to the physical, cognitive, or emotional limitations of persons with disabilities. Lessons are conducted by a vaulting coach who has a familiarity with the needs of both horses and persons with disabilities. The student is either on a lead line or in a lunging circle.
The Sibling Program welcomes able-bodied siblings to participate with their special needs brother or sister. Generating positive interaction for the special needs family, the Sibling Program individualizes adaptive vaulting exercises to challenge the ability of each child. Lessons are conducted by a vaulting coach who has a familiarity with the needs of both the persons with disabilities and the horse.
The Driving Program exposes at-risk and special needs adolescents to the skills of harnessing a horse, donkey or mule; hitching the animal to a cart, and driving in an indoor arena or outdoor track. Taught by a certified Driving Instructor, the driving program builds self-confidence through attention to task, problem solving, and skill mastery.
HARNESS Helping At-Risk Nurture Extra Special Skills. A therapeutic driving program designed for at-risk adolescents.
Day Rehabilitation is designed for special needs adolescents and adults. Participants are exposed to all aspects of the care and handling of horses, from the ground up, and sessions are individualized according to need.
Root Farm Vaulters is an integrated handicapped / non-handicapped club, registered with the AVA (American Vaulting Association) that practices twice weekly at the farm. The club develops the skills necessary to participate in community demonstrations and compete in AVA recognized events. Membership is available for individuals and families.

Reins of Hope is a board driven, volunteer dependent, 501c3 non-profit organization that provides recreational riding opportunities to adults and children with a variety of special needs.
Reins of Hope serves riders from all demographics including different ages, races, income levels, and abilities. Our goal is for all riders to experience success while having fun.
Reins of Hope offers group lessons on Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning in mid March and running through mid October. Our lessons are grouped in 6 lesson cycles.

Based in New York City, our programs are available to people with MR/DD and the agencies that serve them throughout the United States.
Founded in 1979, Sprout is an exciting and innovative organization that serves over 1800 people with special needs each year.
Our participants have the opportunity to experience age-appropriate, recreational and leisure activities in a small group setting. By offering these experiences, we hope to enhance the mobility, self-confidence and socialization of our participants. And through community-based activities, Sprout strives to break down some of the barriers that exist between participants and the general public.
The majority of the people who participate in our vacations are adults with developmental disabilities, with the most common disability being mental retardation. Our participants fall in the range of moderate to high functioning levels, with some individuals requiring a fair amount of assistance with basic living skills, while others are quite independent. All of our participants can travel within the typical group size of 10 participants and 3 leaders.

Bayside School Services offers the Complete Battery of the CAT/5. The CAT/5 sets the standard in standardized testing. It is available for Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Bayside School Services offers the Complete Battery of the CAT/5. The CAT/5 sets the standard in standardized testing. It is available for Kindergarten through Grade 12.
They also offer the Basic Skills test. It starts at Grade 1 and includes everything in the Complete Battery except the sections on Science and Social Studies.
The Survey test starts at Grade 2 and requires the least amount of time to administer. It uses twenty questions from each section of the Complete Battery. Skills Mastery information provided with the Complete Battery and Basic Skills tests is not available in the Survey report.
Tests through Grade 6 include FREE publisher recommended Practice Exercises!
The highly recommend that the CAT/5 Survey Test be used for students with special needs. See FAQ on their website.
